MOOT TIMETABLE

The time allotted to each speaker is indicated below. This time must be strictly regulated by the clerk (or Time Keeper) to the Moot Court, who must indicate the time to the judge and the speakers when there is 5 minutes and 1 minute remaining. The judge is allowed to interrupt the speakers at any point requiring them to answer questions from the bench. There will not be any additional time allotted to the speakers to compensate for interruptions. In each instance the Leader will speak for 20 minutes and the Junior for 15 minutes. The sequence is indicated below.

When the Moot takes the form of an appeal followed by a cross-appeal the sequence will change to running alternately between the opposing sides with the Leaders from each team speaking first, then followed by their Juniors with both sides having similarly the right to reply. The length of time allocated to the Leaders and Juniors remains the same as below.

Speakers will be penalised by the Judge for not keeping within the allotted time.
