Winning Mooters: Christ's College Cambridge - Laura Giles (far left) & Fred Willmot Smith (inset left) are presented the winners shield by The Honorable Mr. Justice Elias. Joined by Mainda Kiwelu of Cambridge University Press and Jonathan Daymond of Justis Publishing.   Runners up: University of Bristol - Elizabeth Ford (far left) Simon Gibb (inset left).

Christ's College Cambridge added their names to the prestigious winners shield following a closely fought victory over the University of Bristol at Gray's Inn. Both teams exhibited an exemplary level of mooting, and Mr. Justice Elias found great difficulty in choosing a winner.

This years competition has been one of the best on record, all teams involved have proudly represented their institutions, and the level of mooting skills displayed has been higher than ever.

I would like to personally thank all the teams who have been involved and all those who have helped support the teams and organise things along the way. I would also like to give special thanks to the kind support given by our sponsors, The Law Society Charity, Justis Publishing Ltd, Cambridge University Press, and SACHA.

Our Aim

The aim of the competition is to encourage all law students to try their advocacy skills at mooting, not just those students with aspirations to be called to the bar. As a registered charity and the publisher of the most cited and authoritative law reports the ICLR is committed to the educational development of our future lawyers. The competition now in it's fourth year is open to undergraduate law students or CPE students. Special thanks to Justis, The Law Society Charity, SAHCA, Cambridge University Press, for very kindly sponsoring the 2006/7 competition and for all their continued support.
