The
almost universal view amongst judges in England is that too much, rather than
too little is reported. The Council is still determined to publish only those
cases that really matter, carefully selecting the most important cases from the
5,000 or so decisions per year capable of being binding precedents. Since
1970 the Council has operated as a Registered Charity and consists of members
nominated by each of the 4 Inns of Court and by the General Council of the Bar.
The two law officers and the President of The Law Society are ex officio members.
An executive committee sits once or twice a year and the full council meets only
once a year. |
